MIDLAND, Ga. (WTVM/Gray News) – A father and son were killed by a falling tree while they were golfing in Georgia this weekend. According to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan, the father and son died at Bull Creek Golf Course in Midland. The victims were identified as 58-year-old Matthew Terrell Collins Sr. and 29-year-old Matthew Terrell Collins Jr., both from Harris County. The coroner said when a storm hit the golf course, the victims took cover under a tree while in their golf cart.

According to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan, two people have died as a result of a tree falling on them. Buddy Bryan confirmed the two victims as 58-year-old Matthew Terrell Collins Sr. and 29-year-old Matthew Terrell Collins Jr. both from Harris County.

On Wednesday, April 2, Quincy Combs, son of Kim Porter, shared on his Instagram a picture of Starr with a statement confirming her passing. “She departed this life peacefully, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love,” the statement said. COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Many Columbus residents can feel safe knowing they finally have a smoke detector. According to the American Red Cross of Georgia, seven people die every day from house fires in homes without working smoke alarms. Columbus fire officials are working hard to decrease that number. Saturday, the American Red Cross of Southwest Georgia partnered with the Columbus Fire and EMS and installed 183 smoke detectors for Columbus residents.
