Manchester should be the national centre for excellence in online retail – that’s the message from Manchester Digital as it calls for the establishment of a National Centre of E-Commerce Excellence in the city. The proposed 800-home Marina Village development in Barrow is not a single "silver bullet" solution to the town's housing needs, council leader Jonathan Brook has said. Speaking to cabinet members at Westmorland and Furness Council , Cllr Brook stated that while the development will contribute to addressing the demand for additional housing, further significant development will be necessary.
