Chef, Gary Usher, has announced the shock closure of his central Manchester restaurant, Kala. The site opened on King Street six years ago following a widely publicised crowdfunding campaign, that was supported by fellow celebrity chef, Tom Kerridge. Usher was attempting to raise£100,000 in 100 hours in March 2019, to fund the opening of Kala, which was his sixth restaurant opening, having launched Pinion, in Prescot, the previous October.
