It was his second time. The jury convicted Matthew Hughes, 32, of first-degree home invasion and aggravated stalking. Five years ago, Hughes also broke into Eminem's home and was later convicted.

    A 15-year-old boy from Redford Township is charged in the shooting and wounding of another 15-year-old on a school bus on Wednesday. He will be prosecuted as a juvenile. Authorities allege that the juvenile was sitting on a Thurston High School bus, handling an unsecured handgun when it discharged and struck the student in the hand. Medics took the victim to a local hospital for treatment.

    A mistrial was declared Thursday morning in the trial of former Grand Rapids police officer Christopher Schurr who was accused of murdering motorist Patrick Lyoya during a traffic stop on April 4, 2022, the Grand Rapids Press reports. The Kent County Circuit Court jury was hopelessly deadlocked. Schurr chased Lyoya, who ran on foot after being pulled over for having a license plate that did not belong on the car he was driving. The shooting was captured on video.
