At least one person killed in house fire on Detroit's west side DETROIT (WWJ) — A 44-year-old man has died after a fire broke out at a home on Detroit’s west side Thursday afternoon. The fire happened in the area of Patton and Glenco, near 7 Mile and Evergreen shortly before 5 p.m. WWJ Newsradio 950's Tim Pamplin reported from the scene when firefighters arrived to the home, the man's mother was outside and told them he was in the basement.

Police say the dog was not family-owned, but they believe it was a loose dog that went into the yard and attacked the child.
