It's time to roll film! The 2025 Milwaukee Film Festival is set to return this week, running from Thursday, April 24th until May 8th, with over 200 films from around the world hitting screens at the Oriental Theatre and the Downer Theatre. Now in its 17th year, the festival does an amazing job of curating a mixture of works from national, international and Milwaukee filmmakers, and this year features films across 13 categories, both short and feature-length.

PrideFest is turning up the volume in 2025 with a main stage lineup that’s packed with music, comedy, and drag royalty. This year's lineup on the SKYYLine Mainstage includes award-winning singer and American Idol Season 6 champion Jordin Sparks, Brazilian pop icon and drag queen Pabllo Vittar, and "blueneck" country star Chris Housman, who has amassed a huge following on TikTok. The headliner lineup also includes comedian Jay Jurden, along with theatrical rock band The Scarlet Opera.

Singer-songwriter Lucy Dacus has announced over 20 new shows as part of her global "Forever Is A Feeling" Tour, including a return to Milwaukee this summer. Dacus will play the Riverside Theater on Sunday, July 27th, marking her first time back at the venue since her Milwaukee debut in 2018.

R&B artist Ne-Yo will headline the Bank Five Nine Main Stage on Saturday, August 2nd. This marks the seventh headliner announced for the fair, which runs from July 31 to August 10.

DiFranco did a live interview at Milwaukee’s Oriental Theater last October repping her documentary “1-800-On-Her-Own,” and she will return to our state – at Madison’s Orpheum Theater – on Saturday, Sept. 6. But tonight she stormed the Pabst Theater’s stage with her “Unprecedented Sh-t” tour for a 90-plus minute show that ranged, per usual, from serious to silly to unstoppably sincere and smart.
