It's time to roll film! The 2025 Milwaukee Film Festival is set to return this week, running from Thursday, April 24th until May 8th, with over 200 films from around the world hitting screens at the Oriental Theatre and the Downer Theatre. Now in its 17th year, the festival does an amazing job of curating a mixture of works from national, international and Milwaukee filmmakers, and this year features films across 13 categories, both short and feature-length.

On Monday, April 14, in honor of Milwaukee Day and its own 150th birthday, Milwaukee Fire Department will temporarily re-designate Engine 14 to Engine 414. Fire Chief Aaron Lipski and Mayor Cavalier Johnson will join the crew of Station 14 – home to Engine 14 and Truck 3 – at 6074 S. 13th St. on Monday at 10 a.m. to host a temporary renaming ceremony that also marks the two special occasions.

The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled a Front Row Amy Bobblehead featuring arguably the most famous and recognizable Milwaukee Brewers fan. Front Row Amy has been a season ticket holder with a front-row seat behind home plate at American Family Field for over 15 seasons. The bobblehead is being released in conjunction with the Brewers’ 2025 home opener which is against the Kansas City Royals this afternoon.
