OAKLAND, Calif. - From the ads you click on to the words you search online, personal digital data is constantly being collected and sold. While advertisers typically use this information for marketing purposes, it can also be accessed by law enforcement agencies or exploited by hackers. In response to growing privacy concerns, a coalition of Bay Area nonprofits is hosting what they're calling a "privacy self-defense" workshop. The goal is to help people protect their personal information.

SILVER SPRING, Md. - Starting next month, the Food and Drug Administration will restrict who can make and sell popular weight-loss medications known as GLP-1s. The FDA says compounding pharmacies, which make similar versions of name-brand drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy, will no longer be allowed to sell them after the end of April and May. In 2022, weight-loss drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy and others experienced a surge in popularity.

ALAMEDA, Calif. - A fire broke out at the Alameda marina early Wednesday morning, much of which was caught on a viewer's cell phone. The fire erupted at 3:30 a.m. at the Marina Village Parkway, which Geri Carder, who was in the area, took some video of. One person was able to escape the burning boat safely, according to Alameda firefighters, and they said no one was in the second boat that burned.
