DiscussionThe identification of recurrent CNVs in the WBC gDNA of older dogs, which persist with little to no change in amplitude over time and are absent from cfDNA (and from tumor tissue, in dogs with concurrent cancer), provides early evidence for the existence of age-related somatic alterations in dogs that resemble the phenomenon of CHIP previously described in humans.
