Music can often be a great source of healing. The Perry Community School District bands joined forces to premiere “A Mere Moment: Bolero in Remembrance" on Monday, April 7, pulling together a still-healing community at the Perry Performing Arts Center. The Iowa Bandmasters Association commissioned the custom piece as a tribute to the memories of Perry student Ahmir Jolliff and Perry High School Principal Dan Marburger, who were killed in the Jan. 4, 2024, shooting at Perry High School.

Perry High School’s spring production will appeal to audiences of all ages. “The bright colors and the fun songs are going to be great for kids and there are some great jokes in there that are written for adults, so everyone is going to have a nice time,” senior Ethan Jackson said.
