The ground has officially been broken for ADM’s new high school. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on June 11 with representatives from the ADM Community School District along with the architect and construction companies. “We’ve got great support from our community and our families; we’ve got amazing teachers; we have a great administrative staff,” said ADM School Board President Tim Canney.

Perry's downtown will be the place to be on Thursdays through September. The Perry Farmers Market will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursdays through Sept. 25 along 2nd Street between Warford and Willis. “I’ve loved seeing it grow over the years because it really is a great platform for community engagement and involvement and just as a gathering space above and beyond the access to seasonal produce and fresh baked goods,” said Lynsi Pasutti, executive director of the Perry Chamber of Commerce.

The Hotel Pattee has officially reopened its doors after a burst pipe led to a flooded lobby. Jenny Eklund, with the Hotel Pattee, said the historic establishment officially reopened on June 8. The Courtyard Cafe opened a bit earlier on June 5 while the Pattee Cafe and the Hotel Pattee opened back up on June 8. A pipe burst in a guest room on the third floor on June 2, sending water gushing down from the third floor to the second and down to the main lobby near the front entrance.
