Officials say, that using a set of playing cards to randomize the order, the committee determined both how candidates will appear on the ballot and the order in which they will be seated during the upcoming election forum.

    DELMARVA- As graduation parties and summer celebrations pick up, Delmarva Power is warning locals to keep Mylar balloons, also known as foil balloons, secure and away from power lines to prevent avoidable outages. The company says that in the first five months of 2025 alone, 235 customers have been left without power due to Mylar balloons coming in contact with electric lines. That’s more than 270 hours of lost electricity.

    HARBESON, Del.- Two people were hurt Saturday afternoon in a rear-end crash that temporarily shut down a busy intersection near Harbeson. Emergency crews from the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company were called to the intersection of Hollymount Road and Beaver Dam Road around 2:09 p.m. on May 24. Crews said the crash involved a gray Honda Accord that struck the rear of a gray Honda Ridgeline pickup truck. Both drivers remained in their vehicles but were reportedly in pain.

    MARYLAND-The 2025 Chesapeake Bay Blue Crab Winter Dredge Survey estimates the bay’s blue crab population at 238 million, a significant decline from last year’s 317 million and the second-lowest count in the survey’s 35-year history. Conducted jointly by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, the survey recorded declines across all age groups of crabs — adult males, spawning-age females, and juveniles.

    DELAWARE- New legislation introduced Wednesday in the Delaware General Assembly seeks to offer direct financial and emotional support to families who have lost a loved one to suicide. House Bill 174, sponsored by Rep. Eric Morrison and co-sponsored by Sen. Russ Huxtable, would establish a new state fund to help families cover funeral costs, mental health counseling, temporary housing, and lost wages.
