WBOC-TV 16, which started its broadcasts on July 15, 1954, in Salisbury, Maryland, has earned the title of "Delmarva's News Leader" in the community. As a CBS affiliate and a member of the Associated Press, WBOC serves as a vital regional news outlet. Every day, WBOC dedicates its resources, airtime, and expertise to cover important issues affecting the Delmarva Peninsula. In Maryland, the station reaches Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, Dorchester, Talbot, Caroline, and Queen Anne's counties. In Delaware, it serves Sussex and Kent counties, while in Virginia, it covers Accomack County. Together, these 10 counties have nearly 500,000 viewers, not counting the many visitors to local beaches during the summer months. WBOC's main studio is located in Salisbury, Maryland. On August 26, 2008, the station upgraded its broadcasts to high definition from the newly built NewsPlex, a cutting-edge 11,340-square-foot digital broadcast facility. This multi-million dollar structure is situated behind WBOC's main office at 1729 N. Salisbury Blvd. in Salisbury. In addition to the main studio, WBOC operates two satellite newsrooms in Dover and Milton, Delaware, each with its own news and sales teams.

    Ang Lee's The Wedding Banquet (1993) was a touchstone in queer cinema. It was a critically acclaimed gay romantic comedy with an Asian leading actor and actress. Sadly, it didn't get that wide of a release. It was nominated at the 66th Academy Awards for Best Foreign-Language Film. It was set in New York City but was about a Taiwanese immigrant. When it comes to wide releases, we've gotten few romantic comedies, be it with any kind of minority in the leading role, and even fewer gay films.

    It's a vampire flick that spends a hour basically hiding and obscuring that fact. Eventually, it gets to a place where the supernatural phenomena is commenting on the racial issues of the American south during the Jim Crow era. AMC's Interview with the Vampire (2022) already tackled that topic. It did so in a dramatically more interesting way. This film has interesting dramatic things happening, but those things don't really have anything to do with its supernatural premise.

    HARRINGTON, DE - Multiple fire companies responded to a large residential structure fire in Kent County on Tuesday night. The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office Kent says the fire was reported just before 7:30 p.m. on Fairground Road in Harrington on April 8. According to state fire officials, the Harrington Fire Company arrived to the location to find a home fully involved in flames. Multiple mutual aid and fire companies responded to assist. DSFMO Kent says there have been no injuries reported.
