    WICOMICO CO., MD - WBOC has obtained a third-party report on PFAS contamination at Perdue’s AgriBusiness identifying possible sources of the “forever chemicals.”The report was submitted in United States District Court of Maryland as part of an ongoing lawsuit against Perdue Agribusiness over the detection of PFAS at and around the Wicomico County facility. Perdue has pushed to have that lawsuit dismissed.

    LAUREL, DE - The Laurel Police Department has announced the arrest of a 34-year-old man on rape and child sex abuse charges. Investigators say they were alerted to allegations of sexual abuse by Jesse Frank in March of 2025. Frank was accused of committing various sexual crimes to a minor while in Delaware, according to police. Upon further investigation, authorities say it was discovered the abuse was continuous and committed in both Delaware and Maryland.

    EDEN, MD - The Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a fire that destroyed an abandoned house in Eden on Tuesday. According to officials, a 911 call on April 15 at about 2:10 p.m. alerted them to the fire on McGrath Road. First responders arrived to find the building engulfed in flames and almost fully collapsed. Numerous fire companies from Worcester, Wicomico, and Somerset Counties were on the scene for several hours to control the flames.

    DELAWARE - The Delaware State Police have arrested two former Millville volunteer firefighters following a hate crime investigation. According to police, firefighters contacted investigators on April 9 regarding an unreported hate crime that reportedly occurred at their station. Police say Jay Droney, 27, of Millville, and Jordan Hastings, 23, of Delmar chased a Millville Volunteer Fire Company employee around the station with a rope tied in the shape of a noose in February 2024.

    SALISBURY, MD - WBOC has learned that multinational tech giant Amazon plans to open a new distribution center in Wicomico County. According to both Amazon and Salisbury public officials, the distribution center is slated for construction at 1842 Edward Taylor Road at the corner of West Road and just south of Route 50. The property is currently listed under the ownership of developer Opportunity Street, LLC according to online Maryland property records.
