AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - By Saturday afternoon, we’ll know our 6th champion of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur. They have their closed practice round in the books. Now it’s time for those greens to count. As we said earlier this week, this champion will have defeated one of the best fields ever compiled in women’s amateur golf. Lottie Woad is still on the repeat trail and could bring a first to championship history - winning two consecutive Augusta National Women’s Amateur titles.

For the rest of the 32, they were playing to get a leg up on the leaderboard when Saturday’s final round comes calling.

However, it’s her first spotting the colors she’s worked toward for the last four years. “I did ROTC all throughout college, started ROTC my freshman year, and then commissioned as a second lieutenant last June,” said Heck.
