    SHAWNEE COUNTY (KSNT) – Kansas law enforcement say one person is dead after crashing into a ditch. Kansas Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle fatality Tuesday afternoon near 94th Street and U.S. 75. Just before 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, a Ford Ranger was traveling southbound on U.S. 75. According to the crash log, the Ranger ran off the road to the right, for an unknown reason, vaulted into the ditch and came to rest in a nearby creek bed.

    TOPEKA (KSNT) – A local car dealership is giving thousands to support a non-profit. It’s part of Briggs Subaru of Topeka’s Share the Love event. Money from every car goes toward a hometown charity. Tuesday, April 15, Briggs Subaru of Topeka presented the Ronald Mcdonald House with a check for $7,000. That contribution will cover 280 nights at the Ronald McDonald House. “There are a lot of companies in town that do really well, and they help support,” Cody Vondra with Briggs Subaru of Topeka said.

The festival offers northeast Kansas a mix of country, red dirt and Americana artists, according to the website. Brandyn Steen, Rock the Plains owner/executive producer, said Manhattan is one of the best places for an event like this.
