JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – This Thanksgiving more than a dozen families of cancer patients are thankful they can put food on the table with help from a local foundation. One woman who’s battling breast cancer said getting a box of groceries from the Pink Ribbon, Blue Skies Foundation’s annual Stuff the Trunk food drive came at just the right time. “Oh my goodness, the box had everything in it. Even the gift cards to get the essentials that maybe weren’t in the box,” said Kira Knight-McKay.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – In the evening hours of an early November Wednesday two years ago, shots rang out in the parking lot of an Arlington apartment complex. The gunfire led to a 911 call that brought police to the Caroline Village Apartments. When the officers arrived, they found a young man lying outside his car. He’d been shot multiple times. They tried to save him, but he died at the hospital not long after.

Infant and pregnancy loss affects thousands of women each year across the country, and many mothers grieve and suffer in silence. The Liam Lives Foundation aims to help those women and let them know they are not alone. Dr. Tiffanie L. Williams, the organization’s founder, named it after her son, Liam Elijah Wesley Boatwright, who was stillborn.
