    A woman was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after she was attacked by a dog in Fort Lauderdale Thursday night, police said. Fort Lauderdale Police said officers responded along Southwest 14th Terrace around 7:15 p.m. after receiving a call about a woman attacked by a dog. When officers arrived they found the injured woman, who was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center with injuries described as life-threatening.

    A woman ended up behind bars after she allegedly pulled a knife on another driver during a reported road-rage incident in Oakland Park, authorities said. Jacqueline Waller, 51, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, Broward jail records showed. Broward Sheriff's OfficeNBC6 is awaiting more information from the Broward Sheriff's Office on where the incident happened, but during Waller's appearance in bond court Thursday, a prosecutor gave more details.

    A man accused of stabbing another man in the parking lot of a Fort Lauderdale Publix last month is facing a new charge. Perry Andrown, 40, was arrested and initially charged with attempted second-degree murder and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon in the April 16 stabbing. But according to court records, a warrant was recently filed by prosecutors that increases it to attempted first-degree murder, which requires proof of premeditation.

    Former Major League Baseball All-Star and World Series champion Rafael Furcal was arrested in Broward County, records showed. Furcal, 47, turned himself in Wednesday to face second-degree felony charges for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and throwing an object into a vehicle or dwelling, Broward jail records showed. He has since bonded out of jail.
