Spring bike tune-up clinic held in Kincardine Several volunteers joined forces with the Kincardine Environmental Action Network (KEAN), Marlo Cycle and the Kincardine Library, to host a spring bike tune-up clinic, Sunday (May 18). Martin Weatherall, Shane Hotchkiss and Brent Urie were the bike mechanics and they serviced 22 bikes in two hours. They checked brakes, tires, gears and alignment.

The chairman and founder of Britcham Macao, Keith Buckley, had his services to the British business community recognised on Wednesday, when he was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) by Prince William during a ceremony at Windsor Castle – a royal residence some 40 kilometres outside of central London.

More than 90 pre-made food bags were sold and nearly $600 in cash was collected for the Kincardine Food Bank. Appreciation goes out to the Kincardine community for supporting this worthwhile effort. A big thank you goes out to Sobeys for working with the troop to make this event possible. Also, to Lakeshore Tree Service for donating the remaining pre-made food bags that didn't sell during the collection period.

What does the average visitor do on a trip to Macao? For sure they’ll make a beeline for the Ruins of St Paul’s, the centuries-old church and beloved symbol of the city. From there, the Old Town’s twisting cobblestone alleyways offer up plenty of historic architecture and fresh-baked egg tarts. It’s also an easy stroll to A-Ma Temple, where one can inhale the evocative incense of an ancient hillside shrine. Many travellers also head south to soak in the relaxed coastal vibes of Coloane Village.

Stepping into the Holy House of Mercy’s Salão Nobre is rather like stepping into a church. Subliminal hymnal music plays softly, complemented by the rich smell of polished wood. Instead of saints, however, these walls are lined with portraits of ordinary mortals (albeit some very admirable ones). They are the benefactors whose generosity has enabled the venerable institution to carry out good works over the past 455 years.
