NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - An easterly upper atmospheric flow will keep rain chances heightened for parts of this week. Monday will warm to the lower 90s with a 40% chance of rain and storms. That means 40% of the area will see rain. The severe threat remains very low. By Tuesday, a bigger batch of moisture moves in and brings slightly higher rain chances, especially for the south shore.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Small storm chances linger through the weekend before a more active setup arrives next week. Sunday will be hot and muggy with highs returning to the low to mid-90s. We may stay just below Heat Advisory criteria, which is a feels-like temperature of 108 degrees or higher. A few sea and lake breeze-driven storms are possible as well on Sunday, with about a 30% chance. A new weather pattern is arriving next week.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - All eyes will be watching the LSU Tigers take on Coastal Carolina Saturday, June 21, in Omaha, NE. Onlookers as well as players will have a little heat with gusty winds in Charles Schwab Stadium. This isn’t a high-impact forecast. There are just a few aspects of the weather that may be a nuisance to those watching the game in person, as well as the players on the field.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - We continue with our daily hit-or-miss storm threat. The chances will increase for Thursday. Lake and sea breeze driven storms are likely today. A few heavy downpours and gusty winds are possible. But a bigger storm threat will arrive Thursday. We’ll see the daytime-driven storms, but a little energy moving in from the north will provide more lift, which brings a higher storm coverage. Heavy downpours and gusty winds will be our biggest threat.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - This week will start stormy, with rain chances lowering slightly by the end of the week. Monday, highs return to 90 degrees with widely scattered afternoon showers and storms. A few storms may have the potential to become strong to severe with gusty winds. But the bigger hazard will be heavy downpours leading to street flooding. Each day will bring heightened afternoon storm threats at around a 60% chance.
