NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - While Thursday won’t be as stormy, we’re in the middle of an active weather pattern that takes us into Mother’s Day weekend. Thursday will be warmer with afternoon highs in the lower 80s. A few showers and thunderstorms may impact the south shore and coastal Mississippi. There’s a low-end severe and flood threat for today with any storm that may move through. A bigger storm threat arrives Friday as a Gulf low enters Southeast Louisiana. Widespread rain and storms are possible.

Monday will be mostly sunny with low humidity as highs warm to the lower 80s. Tuesday will begin our stormy stretch. A warm front will move in, allowing for pop-up afternoon storms. They’ll become much more widespread over the next several days. Multiple rounds of rain and storms will move through between Tuesday and Thursday.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A stormier pattern is set for the week’s second half and parts of Jazz Fest. A line of storms is already moving in this morning and will bring scattered showers and storms. A few heavy downpours, gusty winds, and lightning will be possible. Storms will subside this afternoon with a mix of sun and clouds as highs return to the mid-80s. But the forecast gets busier as we head into the weekend.
