Louisiana State Treasurer John Fleming urged recipients to cash the checks, which are printed on blue paper and mailed in windowed envelopes from the Department of Treasury’s Unclaimed Property Division.

Published 4:11 pm Thursday, May 22, 2025 A coalition of environmental and community groups filed a federal lawsuit Monday against a newly enacted Louisiana law that limits residents’ use of independent air pollution monitors to inform the public or advocate for environmental action. The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana, targets the Louisiana Community Air Monitoring Reliability Act, or CAMRA.
