AMITE, Louisiana — An inmate who escaped the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on Thursday was recaptured on Friday, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office. 22-year-old Tra’Von Johnson was arrested in Amite on Bennett Road. Authorities said Johnson escaped for the second time in a year. He is awaiting trial for his alleged role in a 2022 home invasion near Hammond that left one man dead and a child injured.
