This is a blend of 77% Zinfandel, 20% Petite Sirah, and 3% Alicante Bouschet. Purple in color, ruby at the rim, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is deep with black cherries, slight blueberries, sandalwood, and slight black pepper. Medium bodied. Light drying tannins. Good balance. On the palate, black cherries and black raspberries with a bit of spice and pepper. Good finish. This is drinking well now and should continue for another five to eight years.

In a recent tasting of 8 Sonoma Zinfandels done blind, this was my favorite. Now, tasting wines in this manner is not conclusive as often the bigger, flashier wines win. That said, this was also one of the least expensive wines in the group! This is a blend of 88% Zinfandel, 11% Petite Sirah, and 1% Alicante Bouschet. Purple in color, ruby at the rim, opaque and bright. The nose is tight at first but opens to show black cherries, black licorice, bramble and slight black pepper. Medium bodied.

This was the lightest wine at a recent tasting of Carlisle wines. Ruby in color, clear and bright. The nose has cinnamon, black cherries and other spices. light to medium bodied. Light tannins. On the palate, black cherry fruit with a slight cough syrup note. Moderate finish. More of a "Claret" styled Zinfandel. This is nice on its own but would be better with food. A yellow curry dish would work well. Drink over the next five to eight years.

I am a big fan of Tench wines, but this is the first Sauvignon Blanc of theirs that I can recall tasting. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose is a bit quiet but has some tropical fruits along with a slight pear note. Medium bodied. Good balance. On the palate, this is a bit more expressive. Flavors of Guava and pair with just the slightest grassiness. Good acidity. Long finish. This is drinking well now and should continue for another three to five years.

Top Ten California Zinfandels - 2016 I tend to taste and drink a lot of wine over the course of a year. I am in a few tasting groups, sometimes the wines are consumed at various local wine store tastings and a number drunk with friends and family. 2006 Ridge Lytton Springs, USA, California, Sonoma, Dry Creek, Wine review This has 80% Zinfandel, 16% Petite Sirah, and 4% Carignane. It is drinking just wonderfully right now. Purple in color.
