London-based studio Woo Architects referenced the industrial revolution in its design for the UK Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, which features a pixelated facade made from folded, perforated metal. The 14-metre-tall pavilion has a temporary structure built by contractor ES Global, wrapped in folded sheets of powder-coated aluminium to create a 3D gridded surface pattern.

Whether creating a dramatic entrance or elegantly connecting indoor and outdoor spaces, our latest lookbook collects homes where pivot doors make a striking visual impact. Rather than hinging on its side, a pivot door has hinges fixed to the top and bottom of the door, making it swing around a single vertical axis. The pivot point is inset from the side, creating a dramatic asymmetric effect where the door peels away from the surrounding wall on both sides in opposite directions.

Lebanese architect Lina Ghotmeh is set to design the first new national pavilion in the Giardini della Biennale in Venice, Italy, for 30 years. Commissioned by Qatar Museums chairperson Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Ghotmeh's design will be the 30th permanent national pavilion in the Giardini della Biennale, which hosts the Venice Architecture Biennale.
