Architecture studio Zaha Hadid Architects has revealed its design for Khalid Bin Sultan City in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, which will be built alongside the studio's Beeah Headquarters. Designed for environmental management company Beeah Group, the city will be built east of Sharjah International Airport alongside the Beeah Headquarters, which Zaha Hadid Architects completed in 2022.

University of East London staff and students have created a school building in India from Sugarcrete, a biomaterial construction block made from sugarcane waste. Located in the city of Noida at Panchsheel Balak Inter College, the classroom is the first structure to be constructed from the low-carbon Sugarcrete construction material, which was developed in 2023 by the University of East London (UEL) and architecture studio Grimshaw.

London mayor Sadiq Khan has announced that plans to pedestrianise Oxford Street will move forward, following support from the public and businesses. Results from a public consultation published today revealed that out of 6,642 responses from businesses and London residents, around 7 in 10 backed plans to transform Oxford Street, with two-thirds in support of pedestrianisation specifically.

The Western Sydney International Airport has been completed with a sinuous timber ceiling, designed by British studio Zaha Hadid Architects and Australian studios Woods Bagot and Cox Architecture. Located in Sydney's Badgerys Creek neighbourhood, it was designed to become the city's second airport and Australia's first new major airport in over 50 years.
