Aspen Fire Department personnel roll up hoses next to one of three engines responding to the scene of a small blaze in the Aspen Airport Business Center at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The kitchen fire was contained to one room of an apartment unit in the 400 block of AABC. Aspen Ambulance also responded to the incident. No other details were immediately available. Steve Crown, executive chair of Chicago-based Henry Crown & Co., which owns Aspen One, the parent company of Aspen Skiing Co. and related entities, sat down for a brief interview with the Aspen Daily News at the Limelight Hotel on Tuesday morning. Aspen One CEO David Tanner also participated in the discussion. Crown and Tanner addressed rumors that the company is positioning itself for a future sale.

The late-1960s and early ’70s were said to be the “Age of Aquarius.” If I were to label our current time in history, I’d call it the “Age of Anxiety.”And there are solid reasons to be anxious. The biggest: We have a new presidential administration that seems hellbent on upheaval for upheaval’s sake — there doesn’t seem to be a lot of logic or reason behind most of the orders being handed down from above. Unless you are a firm believer in the MAGA movement, you are worried.
