Coverings, the international tile and stone exhibition and conference, will celebrate 20 honorees in returning and new awards programs at the upcoming show, April 29-May 2 in Orlando. The programs are the Coverings Rock Stars, which has recognized bright young talent in the tile and stone industry since 2014, and the new Coverings Champions, which highlights distinguished industry leaders for their extraordinary contributions to the expansion and continued achievement of the event.

In 1953, furniture designer Milo Baughman was pitching his newest designs to furniture companies in High Point, N.C., and getting nowhere. As a last resort, Baughman went to see Thayer Coggin, who had just launched his own furniture company. For about an hour, the two men pored over Baughman’s designs. Then Coggin suddenly stood up and, according to Thayer Coggin‘s company history, said ‘This isn’t like anything I’ve ever seen before, but I like it.

CBB Design Firm recently had a giveaway on Instagram that will give one winner a private shopping trip at High Point Market this month with firm founder Colleen Bennett. The trip will include personalized interior styling tips and a behind-the-scenes look at the firm’s process. Bennett, based in Morganton, N.C., shops with her clients often, but this is the first time she has offered a giveaway. “High Point Market is like Fashion Week,” Bennett said.
