Jack Brearley, one of four people accused of murdering Perth teenager Cassius Turvey, has denied using an axe to cut the handles off shopping trolleys on the day the boy was attacked. It's alleged a pole ripped from a supermarket trolley was used to inflict the fatal blow. Mr Brearley blames one of his co-accused, Brodie Palmer, for the fatal assault, although he admits punching Cassius Turvey in self-defence after claiming the schoolboy stabbed him.

A 16-year-old boy from regional Western Australia has been charged after allegedly making violent online threats against a Sydney mosque. The teen, who can't be named, was arrested overnight on Tuesday and WA Police have since charged him with creating a false impression about the existence of threats or danger. He's been bailed and is due to appear in a court in Bunbury, about 200 kilometres south of Perth, next month.
