REXBURG — A white and pink cart that has shown up in the Rexburg area has been serving up delicious cakes made in loaves. Brinley Powell, who lives in Sugar City with her husband and baby, is the owner of The Cake Cart. It’s a rolling cooler that she can put loaf cakes in. “I love baking!” Powell said. She has been making cakes since she was a teenager.

IDAHO FALLS — A local teen’s idea has landed him in a national competition, but he and his family need some help from the community to get there.   Bingham Case, 13, attends American Heritage Charter School in Idaho Falls. He created an invention in school as part of a project. It’s called the R.A.A.P. Pad. “It’s intended to solve the problem of overpopulation as our global population grows. It’s hard to find space for houses, schools, and stores for us to keep living and expanding,” Case said.

IDAHO FALLS — Two local business owners are set to tackle what’s known as an “iconic” race in San Francisco and it will be a grueling challenge. Owners of Idaho Falls-based Tri Peaks Epic Events, Bryan Magleby, and Mike Taylor, along with Taylor’s wife Takara, will be a part of the “Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon” happening Sunday.

We’re outraged that the Trump administration is stalling the release of $10 million in promised federal funding, secured by former Montana Sen. Jon Tester, to fix and upgrade a busy section of Valley Drive in East Helena — a highly-traveled, treacherous traffic corridor and measly two-lane road. It's just one example of federal funds being withheld from essential rural infrastructure projects throughout Montana.

IONA — If you are looking for a bargain, unique items, or even a chance to connect with locals, then an upcoming garage sale might be for you. The city of Iona will hold its annual “Community Yard Sale” on Saturday, June 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  “It’s a way for the community to be able to clean up unwanted goods and be able to get rid of things and kind of get to know their neighbors in the process as well,” said city event coordinator Diana Estrada.
