KENNER, LA. (WVUE) - The Kenner Fire Department says lightning from Wednesday morning’s storms did not cause a fire that destroyed 10 18-wheeler cabs at a local trucking company. Fire officials say they received a call around 4:30 a.m. reporting that seven truck cabs were on fire at CRC’s headquarters on Airline Highway. CRC is a major shipping and supply chain company based in Kenner.

AMITE, La. (WVUE) - Family members of two high school boys who were injured Monday (May 5) in a double shooting in Amite want a swift investigation into the people responsible for the violence. Amite police say a fight broke out near the intersection of South Fifth and MLK streets, and that the conflict led to the 17 and 18-year-olds being shot and rushed for hospital treatment.

AMITE, La. (WVUE) - Two people were hospitalized after being seriously wounded in a double shooting in Amite, a law enforcement source told Fox 8. Amite Police set up a perimeter near the intersection of West Martin Luther King and Richardson streets after the gunfire reportedly erupted around 7 p.m.Deputies from the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Department also were dispatched to assist with crowd control near the shooting scene and near a hospital where at least one victim was being treated.
