The towns of Quispamsis and Rothesay are launching a transit service as a “demonstration” project with hopes to have a bus on the road by July. Quispamsis council voted Tuesday to approve the KV Go demonstration project, which is a free service that would run seven days a week, eight hours per day for at least three months, town CAO Ian Watson said.

The facade for Sussex’s historic town hall building is set for a $225,000 refresh this year, but one thing that will stay is the spruce tree in front of the building. At the meeting Monday, council voted to approve a $10,220 quotation from Polyline Designs for design, tender and construction administration services related to the facade upgrade, which is budgeted as a $225,000 project.

A Sussex historical landmark has been freshened for the summer season. Sussex town staff stopped by June 4 to trim weeds and refresh the flowers at the mineral water fountain on Church Avenue, Ward 2 Coun. Catherine MacLeod said Monday at a town council meeting. MacLeod said she was speaking to a nearby resident who asked for the landmark, on the registry of Canada’s Historic Places, to be spruced up.
