After a cold, snowy winter followed by a cool start to spring, many Ontarians were hoping for a summer start to June but were forced to keep their winter gear on their torsos Sunday as temperatures fell below 5 C. "The low temperature of 4.9 C at Pearson airport was the coldest June temperature in the last 20 years," Global News chief meteorologist Anthony Farnell said. "It was also a chilly start to the day on this June 2nd with mid-single digits across the GTA.

The board said the challenges are recorded on video and shared online to encourage others to participate, but they can pose serious risks to students and the entire school community.

An anonymous tip led police officers to recently arrest an American man allegedly hiding out in Toronto decades after a 1998 drunk driving collision in Florida left two people dead. Toronto police confirmed that officers from their fugitive squad arrested Patrick Lutts Jr. on Feb. 26, near Bloor and Jarvis streets at the request of U.S. authorities. Court records show that an anonymous tipster called a Florida tipster hotline back in November 2023 to provide details on his whereabouts.

While many Canadians are having financial troubles, no where are they more acute than in Ontario, according to a new report from Equifax. The company, which monitors consumer credit, says Ontario's mortgage delinquency rate rose to 0.24 per cent in the first three months of 2025, a massive 71.5 per cent increase from that same time period in 2024.

Since U.S. President Donald Trump took office and began imposing tariffs on Canada, there has been a concerted effort by many Canadians to shop local and to not travel south of the border. But while the traffic has slowed heading to the U.S., causing some issues for the tourism industry down south, there has also been a decline in the number of Americans heading in the opposite direction as well.
