Two vehicles were involved in a collision on the A16 this afternoon (Thursday). The incident is said to have occurred near Cowbit shortly before 2pm — with the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance thought to have been called to the scene. Lincolnshire Police said the crash was being treated as a ‘damage only collision’ involving two vehicles and that no serious injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash involving a people carrier and a pedestrian. Officers say a collision took place between a silver Renault and a person in Roman Bank in Ingoldmells — near Butlins — between 1.30am and 1.40am on Sunday (March 23).

An ambucopter was called into action to assist a patient on Saturday morning. The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance was dispatched to Gedney Hill — and landed north of the village, near to the golf club, at about 11am. It is believed that the matter was a medical emergency and is not being investigated by the police.

A motorcyclist has died after a crash at a busy roundabout. Police had been called to the A6003 Stamford Road in Oakham just before 6pm on Thursday (March 20), following a report of a single-vehicle incident at the roundabout with Burley Park Way. The rider of a black Triumph motorcycle — said to be a man in his twenties — was pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of passers-by who tried to come to his aid. No other vehicles are believed to have been involved.

Bank bosses have announced that a town Halifax branch is set for closure. The Spalding location, in Bridge Street, is destined to close on April 18 next year – one of 22 Halifax branches set to be axed by parent company Lloyds Banking Group in 2024. The nearby branch in High Street, Stamford will also shut – with a March 14 closure date. In both towns, customers have been promised they will get access to a ‘Community Banker’.

Six men have been released on bail – and another ‘de-arrested’ – as investigations into a fatal collision. One man died after his car crashed and was left overturned in a water-filled ditched in Tongue End on Friday afternoon. Two police officers went into the water at the scene – at Counter Drain Drove – to try to save him, but their rescue bid was in vain. Seven men were arrested following the incident – and police have, this afternoon, issued an update on the case.

Published: 12:25, 23 November 2023 Two fire crews cut a driver free from a crashed car yesterday. Firefighters from Donington and Sleaford attended an incident at 5.07pm in Holland Road, Horbling.
