The Mystic Aquarium and Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management are looking into a minke whale carcass that floated ashore near Bold Point Park in East Providence, Rhode Island, this past weekend. Kim Keough, chief public affairs officer of the Rhode Island DEM, told the Providence Journal that the whale that washed up this past weekend was also observed during the Providence River barge removal during the winter.

Tulip season is over at Preston's Wicked Tulips farm as it announced that Mother's Day would be its last day open for the season. "Today is the final day at our Preston farm," the farm posted on its Instagram story. "The recent wind and rain sped things along and unfortunately, the blooms aren't holding up the way they were.""We're so grateful to everyone who visited this season - thank you for making it so special," the post continued.

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection announced this week that it is expanding its free all-terrain wheelchair program from five parks to seven parks around the state this summer. "Our State Parks are for everyone," DEEP Commissioner Katie Dykes said in a news release. "These chairs help us remove barriers that traditionally have kept people with mobility challenges from fully experiencing the outdoors.
