Actress and singer Jennifer Lopez will star in a new Netflix film adaptation of Connecticut-based novel " The Last Mrs. Parrish," according to Variety. Lopez is the only confirmed cast member on the project so far. "Forrest Gump" filmmaker Robert Zemeckis is set to direct the Netflix film. The streaming company obtained the rights to the psychological thriller novel in 2021, according to Variety.

The fashion and interior designer is working with Delamar Hotels to design the brand's newest hotel location in Westport. The 88th annual Dogwood Festival will be held on Mother's Day weekend this year, from Saturday, May 10, through Sunday, May 11. The annual festival started in 1936 and raises money for charities that support women and children. All proceeds from the event will go to local, national and international charities, according to a news release from the festival's organizers. The event will be held at Greenfield Hill Congregational Church on Old Academy Road.

Spring has just begun, but several summertime restaurants in Connecticut are already setting their opening dates for the 2025 season. Located in Newtown, Ferris Acres Creamery announced its opening date on its social media pages and website on Thursday. The ice cream stand will open for "the most wonderful time of the year" on May 6 at 11 a.m., according to the creamery's Instagram page. The Newtown creamery has been around since 2003, but the family-owned farm has been operating since 1864.
