LOWER SAUCON TWP., Pa. - First responders in Lower Saucon Township rushed to the scene of a serious crash Friday evening. The single vehicle accident happened just before 7 p.m. on Countryside Lane near Easton Road. Initial emergency dispatches called for a vehicle that rolled over and struck a pole. Emergency officials confirmed at least one occupant suffered serious injuries. There is no word at this time what caused the crash. The incident remains under investigation.

State Representative Josh Siegel (D - 22nd District) released a statement Thursday after receiving word that Mack Trucks is laying off between 250 and 350 workers at its Lower Macungie Township facility.

A growing number of Americans are suffering from depression. That's according to a new report out today from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC.)The report says more than 1 in 8 people over the age of 12 have been depressed in recent years. That breaks down to nearly 13% of people. Experts say it's up from 7% of people a decade ago. The CDC says women are more likely than men to be depressed. Experts believe the rise is two-fold.

READING, Pa. - Officials with Opportunity House say the nonprofit has withdrawn its plans to purchase a downtown Reading property it hoped to convert into affordable housing for those in need. Despite efforts to expand its services through the purchase of a property at 100 South 4th Street, Opportunity House says it has decided it is no longer worth the time and effort to continue to debate with Reading City Council on the matter.
