Veteran jamtronica outfit Lotus will return to Nelson Ledges Quarry Park in Garrettsville, OH on August 28th, 29th, 30th, and 31st for the 2025 edition of its annual festival, Summerdance. The four-day event will feature three nights (six sets) of Lotus, two nights of Pigeons Playing Ping Pong (including a Thursday headlining performance), Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country, Dogs In A Pile, Future Joy, Houseplant, Michael Wilbur of Moon Hooch, Solar Circuit, and Space Bacon.

Twenty-nine years ago today, Jerry Garcia‘s longtime bassist and collaborator John Kahn died in his sleep after suffering a heart attack at the age of 48. Kahn’s sudden, untimely death came less than a year after Garcia’s own tragic passing. Few people have lived a life as interesting as Kahn’s. Born in Memphis, TN in 1947, John Kahn was adopted at birth by a pair of Los Angeles agents.

A spirit of collaboration is at the core of the ongoing Sessanta V2.0 tour featuring A Perfect Circle, Puscifer, and Primus, but the latter upped the collaborative ante on Wednesday night at Grand Rapids, MI’s Van Andel Arena with sit-ins by versatile guitarist Billy Strings (a close friend and frequent collaborator with Les Claypool), vocalist Maynard James Keenan (who fronts both Puscifer and A Perfect Circle, in addition to Tool), and guitarist/vocalist Carina Round (Puscifer).
