LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Wynn Las Vegas could pay the Nevada Gaming Control Board over $5 million dollars in a settlement. According to a press release Thursday this comes after a NGCB complaint that claimed Wynn Las Vegas former employees allowed international visitors to improperly get and transfer money. The complaint also said the resort casino violated anti-money laundering rules. The NGCB is set to consider the settlement at a meeting on May 22.

Former UNLV President Len Jessup founded Desert Fund Ventures. “The goal is to grow great companies here in tech and biotech that help to build out and diversify the economy,” Jessup said. “With Desert Forge Ventures, we’re aimed at the Las Vegas Valley.”Jessup believes Las Vegas has seen an explosion in start-ups.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - 16 million adults ages 50 and older who were eligible for SNAP are not enrolled in the program, according to a AARP report. SNAP or the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program provides monthly food funds to low-income people and families to buy groceries. The report also found more than half of the eligible nonparticipants would receive a minimum $20 monthly SNAP benefit. 20 percent would be eligible for more than $300 per month.

That’s a decision the Nevada Judicial Discipline Commission is making behind closed doors after a public hearing Friday afternoon. The former Las Vegas councilwoman was found guilty of several counts of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud in October 2024. Fiore collected money to build a police officers’ memorial. Instead, she was found guilty of pocketing the donations.
