The Las Vegas Review-Journal is a prominent daily newspaper that has been serving Las Vegas, Nevada since 1909. It holds the title of the largest daily newspaper in Nevada and is one of the two daily papers available in the Las Vegas region, alongside the Las Vegas Sun, which is owned by The Greenspun Corporation and distributed with it. The Review-Journal is often viewed as having a libertarian viewpoint in its editorials. On November 12, 2010, the paper announced a leadership change, with Bob Brown taking over as publisher from long-time publisher Sherman Frederick, while editor Thomas Mitchell transitioned to a senior opinion writer role.

    Station Casinos’ free Fourth of July fireworks displays at three of the company’s Southern Nevada resorts will have special viewing areas attendees would have to pay for. The company announced this week that it will charge $35 per person 12 and older and $10 for children 2-11 for admission to the special viewing areas at Red Rock Resort, Durango and Green Valley Ranch. Children under 2 are free. The Fireworks by Grucci displays are scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. at each location.
