Plymouth amateur boxer Ryan Gaffney has won the Western Counties section in the Elite Championships to make it through to the last 16 in England, having sweated off another five kilograms to compete in the U75kg class. Gaffney outboxed Mason Gordon-Brewes of Baker St ABC over three three-minute rounds last weekend to reach the pre-quarter-finals of the Elite Championships next month.
