The loss of a friend and fellow veteran to suicide has led to a former Regimental Sergeant Major writing a practical guide to mental health resilience. Steve Gaskell had a 28-year career in the Army before returning to civilian life and becoming a full time coach, and recently turned 57. But it was a phone call last year informing him of the death of a friend and former Sergeant Major which saw him embark on a mission to help others.

A veteran of more than 50 years on the stage, Andy has sat on Des O’Connor’s couch, sung with Celion Deon and starred alongside the likes of Sir David Suchet and Dame Barbara Windsor in his roles in panto, including at Theatre Royal Plymouth.

A teenager from Plymouth has become the youngest professional in the country having fought a month into his 16th birthday in a contest in Thailand. Callum Dan turned 16 in March this year, and is studying for his GCSE exams this summer, but under the guidance of coach Marlee Dann has already made a paid debut as a boxer after travelling to Bangkok’s outer suburbs during the Easter holidays.
