BBC Radio 1 is a UK-based radio station run by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) that also reaches audiences around the world. It focuses on contemporary popular music and the latest chart-toppers during the day. After 7 pm, the station shifts its programming to feature a variety of alternative genres, such as electronica, dance, hip hop, rock, and indie music. Each program host has the freedom to choose their music and style of presentation. However, daytime presenters are required to rotate a set number of songs each week, with counts of 8, 13, or 15 plays.
