Longtime Minnesota coach and administrator Dan O'Brien was named the Johnnies' interim athletic director on Wednesday, April 23. ALEXANDRIA โ The Sartell boys golf team finished second at the Central Lakes Conference stop at Alexandria's Geneva Golf Club on Tuesday, April 22. The Sabres had a team score of 301. Alexandria took first with a score of 292. Alexandria's Weston Nybarg and Brainerd's Brady Oseland tied for first place with rounds of 70 apiece. Sartell's Jameson Schmitz was third with a 72. The Sabres' Sam Lunde tied for fourth with Alexandria's Garrison Johnson with rounds of 73 each. Team scores: 1.

FERGUS FALLS โ The St. Cloud Crush softball team stayed undefeated at 7-0 with a 15-1, five-inning Central Lakes Conference trouncing of Fergus Falls on Tuesday, April 22. St. Cloud, which is now 5-0 against CLC teams, pounded out 15 hits in the victory and took advantage of six errors from the Otters (0-5).

DETROIT LAKES โ The Sartell and St. Cloud Crush girls golf teams finished in a tie for fifth place at a Central Lakes Conference meet on Monday, April 21, at Detroit Lakes Country Club. The Sabres and Crush both had team scores of 374. Detroit Lakes won with an impressive round of 212. Sauk Rapids-Rice took seventh with a 404. Detroit Lakes is the defending Class 2A state champ.

COLD SPRING โ The ROCORI softball team scored five times in the bottom of the sixth inning to come back and beat Alexandria 7-6 in a Central Lakes Conference game on Monday, April 21, in Cold Spring. Abby Storms went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI for the Spartans (2-2), Sophia Hess went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI, Jessica Boos had a double and three RBI, Sam Sufka doubled and Aubrey Berger had a pinch hit RBI single.
