The Sabres' Madelyn Smith drove in Lilly Beckstrom with the game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning to give her team a 1-0 win over St. Cloud in a Section 8-4A elimination game on Tuesday, May 27, at Sartell High School. Smith admitted afterward she didn't much of a plan when she stepped into the batter's box to face Crush right-handed ace Lola Jacobs .

    COLD SPRING โ€” The ROCORI softball team advanced to the Section 8-3A championship round by beating Alexandria 13-0 in five innings on Tuesday, May 27, in Cold Spring. Jessica Boos threw a five-inning no-hitter to earn the win. She walked one and struck out six. It was the third time the Spartans have defeated Alexandria this season. ROCORI previously beat the Cardinals 15-0 on May 6 in Alexandria.

    WAITE PARK — The Holdingford softball team made a run in the Section 6-2A playoff's elimination bracket over the past week. But the Huskers' magic came to an end in a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to Pierz in an elimination game on Tuesday, May 27, at River's Edge Park in Waite Park. After beating the Cubs 11-1 on Tuesday, May 27, the Cathedral softball team gets to play them again in the section championship round at noon on Thursday, May 29.

    SARTELL — Sartell's Madelyn Smith singled home pinch runner Lilly Beckstrom with the only run of the game in the Sabres' 1-0 win over the St. Cloud Crush in a Section 8-4A playoff elimination game on Tuesday, May 27, at Sartell High School. The Sabres will play St. Michael-Albertville in another elimination game at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday in Brainerd. The winner of that game moves on to the Section 8-4A championship game against Brainerd later in the day.
