93 $32 Drink by: 2025-2032 Shows the virtues of being able to source quality Chardonnay from Pemberton in a hot year. This one has emerged to be a really attractive wine. Aromas of peach and biscuit crumble with a little lemon curd lift. The palate is seamlessly structured with a creamy stone richness complemented by a fine persistent acidity. There’s a slight savoury element here adding further complex appeal. Variety: White Wine, Chardonnay Categories: Drinks, Australian Wines

96 $58 Drink by: 2025-2037 An impressive wine that captures much of what this early generous vintage was all about. Released after a little extra time in the cellar, which has allowed everything to knit together beautifully to reveal its best characters. It’s classically Cabernet with that combination of chocolatey blackcurrant, bay leaf and black olive cut with a fine thread of oyster shell minerality. About 50% new French oak was used and it has worked seamlessly into the palate.

Deep flint and curry leaf reduction mark the opening, followed by baked apple with cinnamon, subtle woodsmoke, butter, grilled peach, vanilla bean and preserved lemon. Some butter pastry and toast notes with air. It’s deep set and powerfully complex. The palate is full bodied and textural but masterfully cut by grippy phenolics and firm fruit power. Baked apple, pastry dough, cinnamon, nectarine, and preserved lemon are buoyed by a pithy grapefruit lift.

Ulithorne has a long established reputation for quality McLaren Vale wines, even if they have been small quantity production levels... One of three Chateaux in the Entre-Deux-Mers under the auspices of vigneron Sebastien Petit. Les 5C represents the five red... 100% Garnacha taken from 70-year-old vines rooted in granite soils at 850 metres in El Real de San Vicente. There’s... It’s rare to see a Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon of such youth looking so complex, so elegant.

92 $35 Drink by: 2025-2035 This is strikingly pithy, zesty and fresh from the outset. White grapefruit pith and lemon balm kick off the aromas, followed by mandarin zest, talc, wet stone and a faint glimmer of lemon thyme. It’s classically pure and citrussy, causing a Pavlovian-like salivation. The palate is textural but tart with a zesty shot of Makrut lime leaf, lime skin, grapefruit, talc, lemon-in-water and mandarin pith.
