96 $100 Drink by: 2025-2040 If you ever wanted a window into how good the Barossa was in 2021, then this wonderful wine from Dave Powell is the one. Aromas are completely engaging with a savoury, fruit cake and plum character with a slightly spicy lift. The palate is sumptuously rich and balanced. It’s almost effortlessly smooth and lingering with loads of dark fruits massing in the middle palate before heading to a long finish. Terrific wine.

93 $40 Drink by: 2025-2032 A wine to honour famed Henschke viticulturist, Prue Henschke, that includes grapes such as Counoise, Grenache Gris, Clairette and Cinsault, among others, seems a natural fit with her life’s work in exploring all manner of vinous possibilities. Slotted in between those grapes are Carignan, Grenache and Shiraz.

93 $20 Drink by: 2025-2035 Long been a personal favourite as a wine which drinks beautifully, ages well, shows how good the great Aussie red blend (Cabernet Shiraz) can be and focuses on the best of Coonawarra. In addition, it is always cracking value. The blend of this vintage is 69% Cabernet Sauvignon and 31% Shiraz. This is fresh and fruit forward, and utterly delicious. It does not hurt that it comes from an absolutely brilliant vintage for the region.

90 $15 Drink by: 2025-2030 Terrific value here with a Shiraz sourced from some famous regions, such as the Barossa Valley, Langhorne Creek and McLaren Vale. There are vestiges of oak still evident from the sixteen months maturation in French oak barrels the wine underwent. A deep ruby red, the nose is slightly rustic with notes of dried herbs, raspberries, undergrowth, warm earth, licorice, red fruits and cranberries.
