    An affordable housing apartment complex with 64 units is planned in Desert Hot Springs, not far from the library. It's part of an effort to bring hundreds of needed affordable homes to the city. A developer is working on an affordable housing project in Desert Hot Springs, near Mission Springs Park. The project, which will be called Crossings on Camino Campanero, will be made up of four apartment buildings with 64 total units.

Dutch Bros Coffee, a popular and fast-growing coffee chain, is opening its first west valley location in Cathedral City. There are only two others in the valley, located in Indio and La Quinta.
