From lawsuits to federal government memos, controversy and confusion over name, image, and likeness (NIL) rights are raging throughout the NCAA — but Princeton and the rest of the Ivy League are staying out of it. Last week, Trump’s Department of Education rescinded a fact sheet issued by the Biden administration stating that, per Title IX, NIL payments from schools must be distributed evenly between male and female athletes.

On a sweltering May morning, hundreds of alumni gathered in Richardson Auditorium to hear University president Christopher Eisgruber ’83 deliver his annual Reunions address — an often dry affair on the state of the University, usually accompanied by a deck of slides. A group of pro-Palestine demonstrators, however, aimed to protest the speech in one of several attempted Reunions disruptions following the three-week “Gaza Solidarity Encampment” on campus.

50 students are running this year in a crowded field of Undergraduate Student Government (USG) candidates. Following a presidential race last year that was uncontested following a last-minute candidate exit, current USG Social Chair Enzo Kho ’26 and current USG Treasurer Uma Fox ’26 are squaring off, both leading small coalitions of down ballot candidates.

About 70 people gathered in front of the Princeton Public Library for a protest organized by Resistencia en Acción New Jersey on Wednesday, Nov. 6 following Donald Trump’s reelection. Many spoke about their fears of a second Trump presidency, especially the impact it could have on undocumented immigrants. On almost everyone’s minds was the ICE raid in July that resulted in the detainment of a Princeton resident and reinvigorated immigrant rights activism in the town.
