But niche sports, which once filled the airwaves of ESPN and regional sports networks, are finding it harder and harder to generate revenue from linear TV partnerships. These sports often have ravenous and growing fan bases, even if they never realistically hope to be the next NBA or NFL. FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KGPE) – The recent storm system provided some much-needed rain and snow for Valley growers. Sierra snowpack conditions within the Kings River watershed were low earlier this month, but still higher than last year. Then snowpack was less than 50% of average at the beginning of February, according to Kings River Watermaster Steve Haugen. That represents only 30% of what is normally expected when snow conditions peak at the beginning of April.

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KGPE) – The Fresno County Blossom trail season officially launches this week. The valley showcase of our region’s fruit and nut trees typically blooms from mid-February through mid-March. The trail offers visitors a look at the wide variety of produce grown here in the Central Valley including almonds, cherries, peaches, plums, nectarines, apricots and citrus. The trail covers about 60 miles. It winds through the countryside, passing by orchards, vineyards and farmland.
