NORFOLK, Va. — Step into Terry Wylie's studio and see the Mermaid City through his eyes. Life in Norfolk serves as the inspiration for a lot of the local painter’s works, and in Norfolk it doesn't get any bigger than Harborfest. The country's largest, longest-running free maritime festival kicked off for its 49th year on Friday — with a special painted poster once again commemorating the occasion. This year Wylie, a resident artist at Norfolk's D'Art Center on Boush Street, was chosen to paint it.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Before Sunday's Champions League game, News 3 honored two local moms who have spent years making sure children with special needs aren't left out of America's pastime. The Champions League is a subset of baseball leagues in Great Neck, Kempsville, Creeds and Deep Creek featuring athletes you have special needs. In 2017, Christine Ross started Great Neck Baseball's Champions League. “My goal is just to see progress," she told News 3 then, with her young son Ethan in tow.

RT @VaticanNews: White smoke! The 133 Cardinal electors gathered in the Vatican’s Sistine Chapel have elected the new Pope. He will appear…

I was sad to hear about the passing of #PopeFrancis this morning. It made me think of this pic I took of him while visiting Italy in 2016. My wife & I stood in the back of the square during a Wed. audience, but he made sure to greet EVERYONE, open to the crowd around him 🕊️✝️ https://t.co/rrPTUHtHMS
