LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - A man is facing charges after he was accused of shooting a vehicle behind him while he was driving. The reported incident happened on Tuesday, May 27. Deputies with the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office said the person who called 911 dispatch stayed on the phone with them until police got there. A traffic stop was later conducted on KY-363. Police said they found two firearms inside of the vehicle that James Chadwell, 45, of London, was in.

Senator Robin Webb, of Carter County, switched from the Democratic party to the Republican party. According to a release from the Republican Party of Kentucky, Webb’s decision marks the end of Democratic representation from rural Kentucky to the state Senate.

LONDON/CORBIN, Ky. (WYMT) - Folks continue to come together following the tornado that resulted in 17 people dying in Laurel County. Local musicians are joining forces to put on tornado benefit concerts in Southern Kentucky as a result. The “Banding Together” concert will be on Saturday and Sunday at the Wildcat Harley-Davidson in London. The address is 575 E. Hal Rogers Parkway. Local bands and artists will perform from noon until 5:00 p.m. both days.

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - A Laurel County woman was arrested after she was accused of neglecting children in the roadway. Deputies with the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office took Paige Smith, 34, of East Bernstadt, into custody on Thursday, May 29. Deputies received a call from dispatch about two kids in the road on Highway 490, roughly five miles from London. When police arrived, they said they found the children with no adults, parents, or caretakers present.
