Goodyear is increasing prices on select consumer tire products in the U.S. and Canada, the company confirmed April 23. The Akron-based company said the increase will take effect beginning May 1 and will vary according to product. Price increases will range up to 4% in the U.S. and up to 6% in Canada. A 39-year-old Akron woman was injured April 22 when a stray bullet struck her in her Firestone Park apartment unit, Akron police Lt. Michael Murphy said. Officers responded to multiple calls of shots fired at about 9:04 p.m. in the 1300 block of Virginia Avenue, locating the victim suffering from a graze wound to her lower back, Akron police stated. She was treated at the scene by Akron Fire paramedics.
