There are fewer blimp pilots than astronauts. Goodyear has 10 full-time pilots. Airships have a cruising altitude of 1,000 to 1,500 feet and go up to 73 mph. When Jerry Hissem was a little boy in Cuyahoga Falls, he used to stop and watch as the Goodyear blimp flew overhead. Now he’s the one who makes people look up. Hissem, 55, chief pilot for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., is the captain of Wingfoot One, the airship based at Wingfoot Lake in Suffield Township. This is a man who clearly loves his job.

A Cavaliers assistant will reportedly become the next head coach of the Phoenix Suns. The Suns have narrowed down their coaching search to two finalists, Cavs assistants Johnnie Bryant and Jordan Ott, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Monday, June 2, citing unnamed sources. Bryant and Ott were hired by the Cavs last summer. They held key roles during the 2024-25 season under first-year Cavs coach Kenny Atkinson.

When Walsh Jesuit went looking for an athletic director, the Warriors wanted someone with experience to replace outgoing AD Mark Hassman. They found it in Denny Ziegler. Ziegler comes to Walsh from Strongsville High School, where he had worked since January 2019. Under his tutelage, the Mustangs won a state and national title in girls soccer in 2020. Ziegler starts at Walsh on July 1.
