The humans at the Las Vegas Valley Humane Society describe this 10-year-old Pomeranian/Chow Chow mix as a happy-go-lucky senior who loves spending time outside. He is working on his diet and exercise, and would do best in a home that could take him for daily walks to continue helping him on his weight loss journey. LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Officials warn that criminals are now targeting one of our most vulnerable populations. A report by the Federal Trade Commission shows that Americans lost $12.5 billion to scams and fraud in 2024. Adults 70 and older reported losing a median of $1,000 last year. Rep. Susie Lee says that recent changes at the Social Security Administration have made seniors particularly vulnerable to scammers going after their hard-earned Social Security benefits.

The largest Asian supermarket chain in the country opened its first location in Spring Valley on Thursday morning. Anyssa Bohanan was there to talk to shoppers excited about this new grocery store. He looks forward to playing ball and tug-of-war, and going on walks, either with or without other dogs. Staff at Misfit Ranch says he is a happy boy with a lot of drive and energy. Staff says Enzo is perfect for an outgoing person, couple or active family who will meet his energy needs with a good walk and some sort of mental activity throughout the day.

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A report from the Federal Trade Commission shows that Americans lost $12.5 billion to scammers last year, with 2024 losses jumping 25% from the previous year. Nevadans were hit particularly hard by fraudsters, as 24,331 residents here in the Silver State filed fraud reports, with $138 million lost to scammers last year. LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Courdelle is a one-year-old bulldog mix who is looking for his forever home!Weighing roughly 30 pounds, the staff at Retired to Rescue believe he's possibly a mix of French and English bulldog. Courdelle is very friendly with any human he meets, but is learning to adjust to other dogs and needs to be the only dog in the home. Local nonprofit launches new program to bring free legal services directly to seniors

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The Southern Nevada Senior Law Program provides free civil legal services to seniors 60 and older. They say the most urgent matters they help with most often are end-of-life planning, referrals for elder abuse and exploitation, and eviction notices. Executive Director Diane Fearon says that providing seniors with those services for free is crucial, saving them hundreds and even thousands of dollars.
