Optus is slugging customers on certain monthly mobile plans with a price hike. The telecommunications giant sent out emails informing customers on several different plans that prices will rise from June 4, 2025. The price jumps range between $2 and $6 per month depending on the plan, Optus managing director of customer solutions Anthony Shiner said.

A helicopter has crashed at an airport in Melbourne's south-east. Firefighters and ambulance are responding to reports a helicopter carrying two people was involved in a crash in Moorabbin, south east of Melbourne, at around 2.30pm. One person has been transported to the Alfred Public Hospital, Ambulance Victoria confirmed. Aerial footage from 9News shows the damaged helicopter surrounded by a foam-like substance.

The frustrating practice of "ghost camping" – which is when holidaymakers book multiple free camping spots but fail to turn up – is hurting small businesses this Easter. Melbourne mother Mel told 3AW her kids were left "terrified" after teenagers pulled the pin on a fire extinguisher inside a dark cinema.
